Dimitar Shopov: We import low-quality dry milk from Ukraine, and native milk is not bought

The farmer pointed out another problem – according to him, the prices in the stores are not real

It depends on the government and the MPs how long this unregulated will continue import dry milk mostly from non-EU countries.

He stated this to the BNR Dimitar Shopov, chairman of the Association for the breeding of the black-colored breed in Bulgaria. Association unites a farmerand, which produce over 60% of milkit in the country.

He explained that Ukraine is a country that uses preparations for the production of grain and cereals, which are prohibited in Bulgaria. These preparations are harmful, he was categorical a farmerand specified:

“With this grain, which is produced with these preparations, all the animals, birds, absolutely everything are raised and this comes to our market“.

In his words, the dry milkwhich is imported from Ukraineis much lower prices from what is imported from the EU.

In the program “Before all” Shopov denied the claim that there is a 30% shortage of production milk in Bulgaria:

“Last year, many of the farms were refused to buy for several months milkit. Since there is a shortage, how can it not be bought milkit?“.

The prerequisite is for greater import from Ukraine on cheaper dry milkwhich is substandard, he opined.

A farmerthey sell what they produce milk of the dairies. This happens with a signed contract, but both parties can cancel the contract with one month’s notice, explained Dimitar Shopov. According to him, this did not happen until last year. However, last year there was a period in which a farmerthey had nowhere to give each other milkit, he emphasized and added that in this way pricesthey come off drastically.

A farmerhe pointed out another problem – according to him pricesthey in shopthey are not real:

“It can not milkthat they buy it for me at 80-90 cents, and the next moment the cheese and other dairy products are inflated like that prices in shopthe. There has to be some control“.

According to him, there should be customs control, the unregulated import of palm oil and other products that are put into dairy products to be banned and dairies where violations are found to be publicly announced.
