The President of the United States, Joe Biden, was today interviewed in a live radio broadcast by the famous American presenter Howard Stern, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

Biden told stories about his family and said that his stammer, which he has had since childhood, prepared him for the tough times in life. According to him, the speech defect is the best thing that could have happened to him.

Biden eventually overcame his stuttering, but it occasionally appears in his public speaking.

The interview with Stern comes as Biden is visiting New York for political events. It shared quite a few biographical details as the Democratic presidential nominee tries to make himself more accessible to voters.

Biden also said that his father, Joseph Robinette Biden Sr., was loving but strict with him and told a story about being knocked out during a football game when he was in the fourth grade. “My dad came out on the field and said ‘Joey, get up.’ Just get up. You have to get up,” he said.

Biden also said he would debate Republican rival Donald Trump. “I don’t know when,” he said, however. “I’d be happy to debate him,” Biden added.
