A 6.1 magnitude earthquake has rocked Taiwan. The epicenter was not far from the coast of eastern Taiwan’s Hualien County, the island’s meteorological office said. So far, there are no reports of destruction, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
The tremor shook buildings in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei. It was at a depth of 24.9 km, the service said.
Taiwan has been rocked by more than 1,000 aftershocks since the massive 7.2-magnitude earthquake that caused casualties and destruction in Hualien County earlier this month.
