The former child star rose to fame with his role as Jake on Two and a Half Men. He was photographed walking in the Los Angeles sunshine on Thursday, April 18.
In the photos, Jones, now 30, wears a baseball cap, sunglasses, a T-shirt and gray sports bottoms. He also appears to have grown a long beard – something that, for obvious reasons, has not been seen before by fans of the hit sitcom.
Embodying “the half” in “Two and a Half Men,” Jones landed the role of Jake at just 10 years old. However, less than a decade later, he revealed that he wanted out of the business altogether.
In a video shared on YouTube in November 2012, he asked fans of the series to stop watching.
“If you’re watching ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching ‘Two and a Half Men,'” Jones says in the roughly 14-minute clip, in which the actor discusses his Christian faith. “I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and I don’t want to participate in it. Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with dirt.”
“People say it’s just entertainment,” he continues. I have bad news.”
The series, which also starred Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer and later Ashton Kutcher, ran from 2003 to 2015. Sources say Jones was paid an estimated $1.2 million per season starting in 2008 .
In Jones’ YouTube clip, he claims that Christianity and comedy don’t mix.
“You can’t be a real God-fearing person and be on a TV show like that. At least I know I can’t,” he said at the time.
Jones subsequently apologized for his comments and continued filming the show. Fans even got to see his character graduate from high school. He remained a regular cast member on Two and a Half Men until the season 10 finale in May 2013.
