He and his lover fall in love in a folk performance
“Why don’t I get married after The Drops? Not a bad idea.”
This is shared by the big star of the show “Like Two Drops of Water”, Vladimir Zombori, who turned out to be the surprise of the season not only with his perfect transformations, but also with his excellent singing, both as a woman and as a man.
“It’s not easy, but I’m a hard worker,” Zombori shares with a smile.
When and where exactly the wedding will take place is still unclear. It is not clear whether Zambori proposed marriage to his partner – his colleague Vesela Babinova. It is only clear that the actor, who makes a splash in the impersonator show, is determined to get married.
In fact, Vladi’s musical talent should not surprise anyone. More than 13 years ago, while still a young actor in “Small Town Theatre”, he performed in the now defunct “X Factor” format. Zombori reaches the last step in the show – the final, but is the first to leave it.
His greatest support is his colleague Vesela Babinova, with whom they have a daughter, but are not yet married.
The two meet in the corridors of NATFIZ, where they study acting – she in the class of Prof. Plamen Markov, and he – in the class of Prof. Atanas Atanasov.
“I was very impressed by his name in the first place, then by everything else around him,” says Vesela about her husband.
The great-grandfather of the “Drops” sensation, Vladimir Zombori, was Prince Ferdinand’s confectioner. It was because of the ruler of Bulgaria that the actor’s ancestors came to Bulgaria. When Ferdinand was elected prince of our homeland, the blue-blooded man took his best confectioner to us – Zombori’s great-grandfather. That is why the actor’s last name is strange for native latitudes and few pronounce it correctly – with an accent on the first syllable.
“My surname comes from Hungary. There is even a town with the same name as mine in Serbia – Sombori, which is on the border. Sombori is the name given to the people who come from this town,” says Zombori.
Vesela Babinova, on the other hand, fails the first time at the exams because she has no idea how to prepare and where to get plays. He studied philosophy at SU and went to theater studios. She appears for the second time at NATFIZ and they already accept her. Vesela admits that her biggest slap in the face in life was experiencing tough love.
“I gave so much of myself that I was severely injured several times. But those are my wounds,” she recalls. Before he and Vlado became a couple, he also had a girlfriend – from the Blagoevgrad Theater. The love between Veselya and Vlado flares up during the performance “Popfolk Chronicles: White Birds and Bullets”. She plays a chalga singer, and he plays the security guard of a nightclub in the MGT “Behind the Canal”. Then “butterflies fly” for both of them.
As of today, Zombori and Babinova are the parents of a baby girl, who is currently being cared for mainly by the grandmothers and a nanny.
“We both work a lot. And with “The Drops” plus my overall program, it’s hard to take a break,” says Zombori.
The show also features a person with whom Vlado cohabited for many years in Studentski grad – the actor Ivo Arkov. While studying at NATFIZ, they share a room together with another friend of theirs, who is currently a successful hair and make-up artist. “It was a big show, but since then we’ve been like brothers,” says Arkov, who is currently the main competitor for the first place of Vladimir Zombori in “Like Two Drops of Water”.
