20-25 thousand Russians from the Guards 98th Airborne Division storm Chasov Yar

What units and how many forces has Russia concentrated to storm Chasov Yar, Nazar Voloshin, a representative of the operational-strategic group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) “Khortytsa”, told on the air of “Suspilne” UNIAN.

“At the section near Chasov Yar, Russian paratroopers from the 217th Parachute Regiment of the 98th Airborne Division of Russia (Guards) are fighting against us. This is somewhere between 20-25 thousand Russian soldiers who are trying to storm Chasov Yar and the surrounding settlements near it,” said Voloshin.

He noted that the situation around the city is complex, but controllable.

“The Russian army does not give up its attempts to capture the city, regardless of the losses in both manpower and equipment. There is no enemy Russian army in the city. Now the city is ours. The situation around the city is complex but controllable, our defenders receive reinforcements and stabilize,” emphasized Voloshin.

According to him, the Russian Federation constantly, as planned, storms the Ukrainian positions, but does not entrench itself and retreats.

“They carry out an assault without securing positions, assault and return, the enemy does reconnaissance, calculates where there might be a weak spot, where to strike,” he explained, noting that in response, the Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted crushing blows.
