--

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov was diagnosed with necrotizing pancreatitis five years ago and his latest health reports are not goodan independent Russian investigative newspaper reported Monday, as cited by Newsweek.

Messages are coming amid rumors about the state of health of the leader of the predominantly Muslim southern Russian republic of Chechnya.

Newsweek cannot independently verify them and the Russian Foreign Ministry was contacted for comment by email.

The Kremlin previously declined to comment on Kadyrov’s health, saying that this is not a matter for the Russian president.

Ukraine doubts that Kadyrov is healthy

He does not believe in his statements published on Sunday

Latvia-based Novaya Gazeta reports that Kadyrov was diagnosed with the disease in January 2019 and that a campaign had begun at the federal level to convince the public that he is in good health.

The disease can also be fatal.

We recall that rumors spread last year that Kadyrov, who has ruled Chechnya since 2007 and is an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is suffering from serious kidney problems.

Speculations about the state of health of the Chechen leader intensified in September when Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov said that Kadyrov had been ill for a long time with systemic health problems. There were also rumors on social networks that Kadyrov is dead or in a coma.

“He has health problems, it’s true. He was really sick, but he recovered,” said the head of the GUR, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, to the Ukrainian publication Ukrainska Pravda. We have to admit that, too, whether we like it or not.”

Ramzan Kadyrov rejected any rumors that he was ill
