“Hezbollah” fired dozens of rockets at Northern Israel – Middle East

The Lebanese Shiite group “Hezbollah” announced last night that it fired dozens of rockets at positions of the Israeli army in northern Israel, DPA reported.

The Islamist group said its attack was in response to Israeli artillery shelling and airstrikes on Lebanese villages.

Israel said there were no casualties or injuries to its soldiers in the attack. Tel Aviv said its warplanes retaliated in the area from where the rockets were fired.

Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip, the pro-Iranian group “Hezbollah” has fired rockets, artillery and anti-tank projectiles from Lebanon at northern Israel, writes BTA.

Nearly 280 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in the exchange of strikes across the Israeli-Lebanese border so far. There are also several casualties on the Israeli side.

On Sunday, Hezbollah managed to shoot down an Israeli drone with a surface-to-air missile and it crashed on Lebanese territory, DPA recalls
