Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has established himself as the most popular politician in North Macedonia. He called Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti a “Serbian citizen”. Vucic accused Kurti of “interfering in Macedonia’s internal affairs” during the UN Security Council meeting. The discussion was devoted to the six-month report of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the work of the UN Mission in Kosovo /UNMIK/.

According to the Serbian head of state, Kurti did not attend the New York session because he was “busy with his party’s election campaign in a neighboring country.”

“I want to convey to the people of Macedonia that the interference in their internal affairs is not the policy of Serbia, but of our irresponsible citizen Albin Kurti,” said Alexander Vucic, quoted by Politika newspaper, BGNES reports.

“Imagine, the most popular politician in Macedonia is not Kurti, but the president of Serbia Vucic, who has no campaign in Macedonia. I apologize as the president of Serbia that our citizen behaves like this on the international stage,” added the Serbian head of state.
