Experiments in China funded by the US government can manipulate coronaviruses and leave no trace of human manipulation, according to newly disclosed emails obtained by the FBI.
The non-governmental organization Judicial Watch has announced that it has obtained 5 pages of documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) following a request under the Access to Information Act. They include emails from April 2020 between several employees of the Newark bureau. The emails concern information about a grant from the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China. The grant is for “gain-of-function research” that “would leave no signature of purposeful human manipulation.”
A person whose name has been withheld when the documents were declassified wrote:
“Details of the current National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH) grant to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for research on gain-of-function of bat coronaviruses are available at https://projectreporter.nih.gov/project_info_description. cfm?aid=9819304&icde=49645421&ddparam=&ddvalue=&ddsub=&cr=1&csb=default&cs=ASC&pball= [резюме на безвъзмездната помощ от NIH за EcoHealth Alliance за проект 2R01AI110964-06]. Translated into plain language, this means: “In Objective 3, we will use synthesis to construct new viruses encoding different spike proteins in an otherwise constant genomic context, and test the ability of the resulting new viruses to infect human cells in culture and to infect laboratory animals. We hypothesize that there is a direct relationship between the receptor binding affinity of the spike protein and the abilities to infect human cells in culture and to infect laboratory animals. We will test this hypothesis whether novel viruses encoding spike proteins with the highest receptor-binding affinity have the highest abilities to infect human cells in culture and infect laboratory animals.
The reason I am writing is that the experimental strategy proposed in Objective 3 (“infectious clone technology”), if carried out using commercial or in-house gene synthesis to prepare the infectious clones, would leave no trace of targeted human manipulation’.
An FBI official forwarded this information to his colleagues and wrote:
