As of today, Ukrainian consulates are suspending almost all services for men of conscription age, according to changes in the law on mobilization, the publication reports “Mirror Sundays” (Zn.ua).

The suspension of consular services for Ukrainians took effect on April 23 and will continue until the mobilization law is officially clarified.

Some institutions no longer accept documents from military personnel. For example, the Ukrainian consulate in Poland does not provide services to men of legal age until instructions are received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kyiv.

The publication published a document, according to which it is recommended to suspend the provision of consular services for men from April 23 “in order to prevent the evasion of the responsibilities of citizens of Ukraine to resolve the issue of military registration by the territorial centers for the acquisition and availability of military documents registration’.

However, not all male consular services will be restricted. The representatives of the stronger sex will still be able to get identity cards to return to Ukraine.

“In the conditions of full-scale Russian aggression, the main priority is the protection of the Motherland from destruction. Staying abroad does not release a citizen from his obligations to the Motherland. That is why yesterday I ordered to take measures to restore the real attitude towards men of mobilization age in Ukraine and behind border. That’s fair,” commented the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.

“As soon as possible, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide updated clarifications regarding the procedure for obtaining consular services under the legislation for men of mobilization age,” he added.
