The Iranian-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah said on Tuesday it had taken drone attack on Israeli military bases north of Acre cityreports “Reuters”.

Israel’s military said it had no information that its facilities had been hit by Hezbollah, but said earlier on Tuesday that it intercepted two “air targets” off Israel’s northern coast.

Hezbollah said it acted in retaliation for an earlier Israeli attack, in which one of its fighters was killed. The group released what appeared to be a satellite image, with the location of the impact symbolized by a lightning bolt with a red circle around it, located midway between Acre and Nahariya in the north.

Israeli airstrikes kill two Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon, the military said earlier Tuesday. Hezbollah later confirmed the death of one of its fighters, Hussein Azkul, but did not provide further details.

A separate Israeli strike overnight from Monday to Tuesday killed a fighter from the elite part of Hezbollah, Radwan’s forces, the military said, although Hezbollah has not confirmed his death.

Since October, Israeli strikes have killed around 270 Hezbollah fighters, as well as about 50 civilians. The shelling has displaced tens of thousands from each side.
