The Kirov District Court sentenced local resident Ivan Rosomakhin to 22 years in prison in a maximum security colony, pleading guilty to the brutal rape and murder of an 85-year-old pensioner.
Rosomakhin was one of the first recidivists, pardoned by Putin who were recruited to fight in the war in Ukraine.
On March 27, the “Vyatskie Polyani” television channel broadcast a report about how Ivan Rosomakhin, a mercenary from PMC “Wagner” returned from the war, kept the entire village of Novi Burets in fear.
“Ivan walks, in one hand a beer, in the other a pitchfork, an axe, a knife. He goes and shouts: “I will kill everyone, I will slaughter your whole family. We don’t sleep at night”said a resident of the village.
A local business manager contacted the police because local residents were afraid to go to work. The head of the police department, Vadim Varankin, promised that his officers would be on duty in the village around the clock, but a few days after the broadcast of the television report, Ivan Rosomakhin was detained on suspicion of murdering a pensioner.
According to the investigation, in March 2023, 28-year-old Rosomakhin, who returned from the war to his native village of Novi Burets, broke into a woman’s home drunkwho because of her advanced age was in a helpless state and could not resist.
Earlier, in September 2020, Rosomakhin was sentenced to 14 years in a penal colony for murder and robbery with violence. In September 2022, after about two years in the colony, Rosomakhin went to fight in Ukraine.
