According to experts, the fall of Chasov Yar will open immediate prospects for Russian troops to achieve significant operational progress.
In addition, offensive operations west of Avdeevka may provide them with tactical advantages. Russian forces in the area remain about 30 kilometers from their operational objective in Pokrovsk and about 17 kilometers from relatively large villages to the east of it.
However, analysts reassure that even if the Russian Federation forces the ASU to withdraw to positions further west, the current successes of Moscow’s forces northwest of Avdeyevka are unlikely to become operationally significant in the near future.
However, there is greater pressure on Chasov Yar. The Russians, who are now on the eastern outskirts of the city, have stepped up their attempts to capture it since March 2024.
Russian troops are trying to seize as much territory as possible before the arrival of American aid to Kiev, which will significantly improve the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the coming weeks. Russian military commanders may intensify offensive operations northwest of Avdeevka, as this area provides more opportunities for quick tactical successes.
