For us, raising civil culture and awareness in this sense is a mission. Journalists in the media are an indispensable partner in this task.

That’s why Sofia Water, a part of Veolia, announces an eco-journalism contest to highlight the contribution of original ideas and ingeniously developed topics to the protection of the environment and the promotion of an eco-friendly lifestyle.

In the contest, we will consider authored materials that can be nominated both by their authors and by other colleagues. They must be published within the calendar year 2024.

Proposals should address topics related to:

– Environmental problems and initiatives;

– Innovations in the management and protection of natural resources;

– Protection of water resources;

– Sustainable Development;

– Climate changes;

Journalists from print, electronic and online media can compete for the prize, and the materials may be developed in all forms of modern journalism / photo reportage, video reportage, article, blog article, analysis, interview, podcast /. The only requirement is that they do not have an advertising (brand) nature.

Proposals will be evaluated by a professional jury. The author/team of the best work will be awarded a trip to a Veolia international group site in Europe, with all travel expenses covered by the company.

Materials are accepted at a specially created e-mail address: [email protected]

The honorees will be announced at a special ceremony that will take place on World Water Day – March 22, 2025.

Details of the competition will be published on a special section of the company’s website: https://www.sofiyskavoda.bg/.

We hope for original and resourceful materials. Good luck to all participants!
