The BMW 319 Sport from 1935 will be the highlight of the eleventh retro car assembly, which will take place on April 27 (Saturday) in Sliven. This is what Valentin Doichinov, chairman of the Association for classic cars “Tuida Classic”, which is the organizer of the event, told BTA.
The car is from the collection of Todor Delyakov from Pomorie. “It is very valuable and its owner usually does not show it in Bulgaria, but because of the Sliven public, which he respects, he will make a second appearance. Last year, Delyakov participated with a hundred-year-old Citroen.”
When asked if the value of such a vintage car can be determined, Doichinov pointed out that it is difficult, because it is a matter not only of judgment, but also of interest on the part of collectors.
Over 200 participants have confirmed attendance. More than 20 will be the cars from the Sliven club.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, the Mayor’s Cup for cars, motorcycles and special prizes for regular participants, club with the most participants and more. “One of the reasons why collectors from all over the country visit our event is our unique prizes,” said Valentin Doichinov. The grand prize for tomorrow’s event is a painting as well as handmade metal sculptures.
For the second year in a row, the retro cars, motorcycles and bicycles will be exhibited in the parking lot of the Retail Park on Georgi Danchev Blvd. from 10:00 a.m. There will be no parade through the streets of the city, as there was in previous editions.
There will be performances by the folk ensemble “Trakiiche”, the brass band of military unit 22 220 in Sliven, individual performances. There will also be a children’s drawing competition on the theme of “Retro Cars”.
