A world champion with 2 transplants from Haskovo enters the Guinness World Records

--

Georgi Peev from Haskovo, who has a transplanted heart and kidney, will be included in the Guinness World Records book. This is clear from his post on Facebook.

Peev is a world swimming champion for transplanted athletes. He won the gold medal last year in Perth, Australia.

He got into the Guinness World Records after he managed to climb the highest peak in Africa – Uhuru, also this year.

“Dude, the people with transplanted organs in Bulgaria are great! Each and every one of you motivates me to keep doing things to promote our common cause – to have more human lives saved! Guinness World Records contacted me about climbing Kilimanjaro. They want proof (photos, video, certificate, two witnesses) that I am indeed a heart and kidney recipient and have boarded Uhuru! After presenting this evidence, Guinness World Records will consider whether the climb is a Guinness World Record for a man with a heart and kidney transplant who climbed a 5,895-meter peak!

Even if they do not recognize it as a Guinness Record, this is a huge recognition for people with transplanted organs in Bulgaria, because we demonstrate that we can be physically active! Even after more than 10 years have passed since the transplants! Thanks to everyone who believed in me! We continue to fight for more transplants and more human lives saved!” writes Georgi.
