Children from Razgrad will compete with their peers from Europe in the International Olympiad in Mental Arithmetic. The graduates of the training center “Amakids Razgrad” Alek, Victor, Georgi, Efe, Yozhef, Murtaza and Theodore will take part in the speed calculation competition through Abacus, which will be held on April 27 in Sofia, the trainer at the center Todorka Zaharieva announced.
More than 200 children from all over Europe will participate in the competition, organized by the Academy for the Development of Intelligence “AMAKids Bulgaria”. Children will compete in four categories, each divided into two age groups. The little ones from the city of Ludogorsk will show their knowledge in the “Brothers” category, where, according to the Amakides methodology, they already successfully apply formulas with passing. Three children from Ruse – Daniel, Maria and Radostina – will measure their knowledge in the international event. Maria Damyanova is seven years old and already took the honorable sixth place during last year’s National Olympiad in Mental Arithmetic, Zaharieva recalled. This year, the girl will compete in the most difficult level – Anzan, where she will show speed calculation, applying 56 formulas learned in the course. During the Olympiad, it will be considered entirely “mental”, the most important quality that students in Amakids schools learn, noted Todorka Zaharieva.
Among the official sponsors of the event is the Razgrad professional football club “Ludogorets”, who for another year stand behind the talented children.
Amakids has its representative office in Razgrad for five academic years. The academy offers training for children between 5 and 16 years old in several methods: mental arithmetic, school preparation, English language, speed reading (Liberica), quick memorization (Memorica) and mathematics (Amamatica).
In December 2023, more than 70 children from Razgrad and Ruse tested their knowledge and skills in a competition to develop intelligence. The host of the Christmas competition, organized by the Training Academy “Tiara” – a representative of the Academy for the Development of Intelligence “Amakids”, was the Primary School “Father Paisiy” in Razgrad. On the eve of International Women’s Day this year, 23 children, graduates of the academy, together with their fathers, stepfathers and khakis joined the initiative to make together a gift for mom.
