Providing support to children from vulnerable groups, including from Roma communities, in early childhood and their families, to improve access to health care, form parenting skills, improve the family environment, increase school readiness of children for inclusion in the educational system, are part of the main goals of the project “Early childhood education and care in Kyustendil Municipality”. The results of the project were presented today at a closing press conference.

The complex integrated measures of the project are aimed at improving access to education, protecting health and developing social skills for children up to the age of six from the municipality of Kyustendil who do not attend or do not have access to a kindergarten or crèche, live in isolated areas and are at risk of poverty, social exclusion and marginalization.

The project was financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021 and is worth BGN 977,178. The beneficiary is the municipality of Kyustendil in partnership with the association “Center for Regional Development ROMA”.

The project created a complex of services (hub) providing functionally related services for education and care at an early age for children from the target groups and their parents, focusing on measures including health, social and educational services, access to basic hygiene resources and work with parents, the project participants explained./BTA
