As part of its mission for a smoke-free future, Philip Morris Bulgaria presents a new addition to its portfolio of science-based smoke-free alternatives. The company launched new vaping products on the Bulgarian market – VEEV one for multiple use with capsules and VEEV now for single use. Since 2008, Philip Morris International has invested more than $12.5 billion in the scientific development, evaluation, production and commercialization of smokeless alternatives, led by the IQOS tobacco heating system. Given the ever-changing market environment and consumer needs, the company is constantly expanding its portfolio of smokeless products, including the new vaping category.

Along with the presentation of the new products, Philip Morris Bulgaria also launched a new program – “We recycle together”, which will be implemented in our country in partnership with EcoSafe – a company specialized in waste management. The recycling activities of the vaping devices as well as the tobacco heating devices will be sent to a recycling center in Hungary. Users will have the opportunity to return their old, unusable devices in special bins at dedicated IQOS sites, each marked with a place to place the category and type of device. The materials from the collected devices are processed to obtain raw materials to be used in the production of new products, and the materials that cannot be recycled will be used to produce energy.

“With the recycling program in Bulgaria, we join the company’s global initiative for responsible and sustainable development, applied in all markets where devices are offered. With the launch of new vaping products, we aim to accelerate our mission for a smoke-free future in the country, which we started more than six years ago with the IQOS tobacco heating system.” says Demian Pintos, General Manager of Philip Morris Bulgaria.

The Recycle Together program aims to reduce environmental pollution with plastics and electronics, and also ensures the correct disposal of critical components such as device batteries.

We at EcoSafe believe that care for the environment, innovative solutions and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. Proper waste management can contribute to a continuous improvement in the quality of life. For this reason, our partnership with Philip Morris Bulgaria – a leader company in its sector – is of key importance for building a more sustainable future in our country.“, shares Stanislava Evtimova, Executive Director of EcoSafe.
