Camper made in Switzerland in a single copy in the distant year 1969, will be shown at the festival exhibition in Burgas. Although it is 55 years old, the car still impresses with its extremely luxurious performance. Its equipment is fully preserved, including the dishes in it. The camper is powered by a Mercedes gasoline engine, heated by a diesel stove, and lit by gas lamps. There is a bathroom, a toilet, and a kitchen with a refrigerator and gas stoves.

I have been in the camper business professionally for 16 years and have always dreamed of owning a vintage exhibit. I bought the camper four years ago in its original form, in motion, as it is to this day. The car is stored indoors to preserve its shine and authenticity, said the owner of the vintage vehicle Anton Dimchev.

The “house on wheels” has a bathroom, a toilet, a refrigerator, two gas stoves for cooking, a water tank, two pairs of beds that can be converted into bedrooms, a place to store luggage. Preserved in their original form are also jars of dried spices with an expiration date that has already passed for tens of years.

About the history of the retro camper, Dimchev said that it was produced in a family workshop workshop in Switzerland. Only one piece remained, as the production was economically unprofitable for its creators. It was purchased by a famous Swiss travel and outdoor enthusiast. He used it until 1984. The camper was left in a dealer showroom in Switzerland with all the kitchen utensils and even personal toiletries.

It has been preserved to this day, with original interior and equipment, like a living picture from the last century. It has everything you need for a wonderful holiday for a family of four, said the owner of the vintage vehicle. With it, Dimchev will participate in the exhibition of campers and caravans Explore Burgas on April 27 and 28 in the Sea Station area.

Experts believe that to be a car retroit must be over 30 years old, restored or preserved as much as possible to its original appearance.

The emotion of having something unique on wheels is indescribable, that’s how Dimchev defined the feeling of owning a vintage car. Annual tax is paid, insurance is paid, proper accommodation is provided, so the pleasure is no more expensive than the maintenance of an ordinary passenger car, he said.

Exactly 70s of the last century are considered to be the beginning of camping and camping culture, both in Western and Eastern Europe. We all know about the Polish caravans that came to the Bulgarian campsites during the soca. In recent years, especially after the covid crisis, the development of business and tourism with campers and caravans has seen great growth, said Dimchev, who is also the owner of a company that has been paving the way for the camper experience in Bulgaria for over 15 years.

At the exhibition, besides the fact that visitors will touch the past, they will also look into the future and will be able to get acquainted with the latest trends from several global camper brands, the organizers of Explore Burgas indicated. There will also be exhibitors of tents, off-road vehicles, water sports and leisure equipment and accessories.
