Multiple police actions and strict road control. This is what awaits drivers during the long holiday period for Easter and St. George’s Day, announced the head of the “Road Police” sector in Plovdiv ch. inspector Krasimir Neshev, a “Maritsa” reporter reported.
“Police presence will be strengthened. From the last working day before the holidays, there will be patrols on all entrance-exit arteries. They will exercise both stationary and linear control. Violators will be removed from the traffic flow and will be sanctioned,” explained Neshev. According to him, several special events will be held separately. On May 2, 3 and 5, for example, the special action will be based on checks for alcohol and drug use, as well as legal capacity and speeding.
Again, in connection with the holidays, specific measures have been identified for the smooth running of the services around Palm Sunday and Easter, and the police presence will be increased during the hours of the services. Around the Orthodox churches, the uniformed will watch for people with questionable behavior and carrying bulky luggage, they will take care to avoid difficulties in the movement of cars and their improper parking. They will immediately intervene if the use of pyrotechnics is detected, which is absolutely prohibited.
More police officers are also planned for the areas of railway stations and bus stations, large shopping centers, hypermarkets and public places with mass attendance. All major celebrations, concerts and other outdoor public events in Plovdiv and the region will also be covered.
At the beginning and at the end of the series of weekends, teams of the “Road Police” sector are primarily engaged in assisting traffic on the main road arteries in the region and the entrances and exits of Plovdiv.
The necessary organization was also created by “Criminal Police” officers to prevent encroachments on the property and property of citizens.
