The mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, called on municipal councilors in the maritime capital to join the large-scale initiative of the Municipality of Varna to clean up the city. He invited them this Saturday, April 27, to come out with their families and clean up around their homes.
Let’s go out and start a new campaign related to the better image of the city; let’s set an example to the rest of the citizens on how to properly dispose of waste and take care of the environment around them, urged Mayor Kotsev during the regular session of the Municipal Council. He added that the municipal and regional administrations, as well as all the equipment and human resources of the garbage disposal company, including from other municipalities, are involved in the Saturday action.
We remind you that the Municipality of Varna is organizing a large-scale campaign to clean the city under the motto “Think globally, act locally!”, which will take place on April 27, Saturday. The appeal to the citizens is to devote their personal time not to cleaning their own homes, garages, basements or attics, but to take care of their bigger home – the city of Varna.
The initiative envisages the refreshment of inter-block spaces, public parks and gardens, places for recreation, children’s and sports grounds in all areas of the territory of the municipality. The garbage disposal company calls for the mixed household waste collected from the cleaning to be left in sacks near the containers. The remains of packaging and bottles should be sorted and placed in the containers for separate collection. Construction and hazardous waste, end-of-use tires and electrical appliances, as well as the collected green mass must be left immediately next to the containers for mixed household waste, but not thrown into them.
On the day of the campaign, the garbage disposal company will organize constant rounds with smaller trucks that will collect the bulky waste placed near the containers.
