The Embassy of Bulgaria in Cuba organizes a series of cultural events in the city of Holgin

The Embassy of Bulgaria in Cuba organized on April 24 a series of cultural events in the city of Holgin as part of the first week of Bulgarian culture outside of Havana, held within the framework of the second Month of Europe in Cuba. This was announced on their Facebook page by our diplomatic mission in Havana.

“The works of Dr. Petya Ilieva from the traveling exhibition “The Colors of Bulgaria” were exhibited in the halls of the “Pernik” hotel. On the initiative of the Embassy, ​​a palm tree was planted in front of the “Pernik” hotel as a symbol of Bulgarian-Cuban friendship and as part of the “Plant a tree for a greener planet” initiative. The following cocktail was attended by representatives of the municipal authorities, Cubans who graduated from Bulgarian universities in the 70s of the last century, friends of Bulgaria and journalists from the national television and radio of Cuba”, the Bulgarian Embassy states.

Our diplomatic representation adds that in the afternoon, Dr. Petya Ilieva held a creative workshop at the art high school of Olgin “El Alba”. “Talented students presented their final exhibition with artworks in different styles. Together with Dr. Petya Ilieva, until the late hours they created stained glass projects with the theme “snowflake”, our mission states.

Ambassador Todor Kanchevski was an official guest of the “Heroes of July 26” plant, opened in 1981 with Bulgarian assistance, where Bulgarian specialists have been working for a decade. On the initiative of the plant’s management, a mango tree was planted in the yard as a symbol of the strong Bulgarian-Cuban relations, the Embassy also reports.

As BTA wrote, during the Month of Europe in Cuba, the Bulgarian Embassy in Havana will take part in five thematic blocks with a total of 11 initiatives, which will take place in four cities – Havana, Cienfuegos, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba.
