Several key road sections in the Burgas region will be repaired before the start of the active tourist season. The activities will start after the insistence of the people’s representatives from GERB, it was reported from there.
“A large part of the tourist flow passes through the territory of the Burgas region during the summer season. Main roads, which are a link to the resort villages, need urgent asphalt patching. Some of them are in a very bad condition, are dangerous for movement and are a prerequisite for serious traffic accidents. Given the increased traffic during the summer months, it is not clear what their condition will be at the height of the active season,” noted MP Galya Vasileva in a question to Regional Minister Violeta Koritarova-Kasabova.
The roads that will be repaired:
– Republican road II-99, passing entirely through the territory of Burgas district, connecting Burgas with the municipalities of Sozopol, Primorsko, Tsarevo;
– Obzor pass – connecting the Southern and Northern Black Sea coasts.
“Regional Road Administration – Burgas, together with the ODMVR and the Regional Administrations of Nessebar, Sozopol, Primorsko and Tsarevo, have carried out an inspection of the republican roads, on which there is intense traffic during the summer season”, the minister of MRRD pointed out in his answer.
At the moment, the compromised sections have been identified and the Regional Road Administration has prepared an additional task under the contract with “Automagistrali” EAD for the emergency patching of the problem sections on the territory of the Burgas region.
“I have the assurance from the API that the planned activities must be completed by May 7. An additional assignment includes patching the damaged areas and repairing the deformed asphalt pavement along the section of the I-9 road Sozopol – Sl. Briag, from road II-99 before Primorsko to Tsarevo and from the road from Tsarevo after Sinemorets”, added the official minister.
The assignment has a total value of BGN 1,412,665 including VAT.
