For example, you were a promising young member of a democratic party, and if the rules of democracy did not protect you, you caught the GERB express train for rapid career development. With the small detail that there you are appointed, not chosen – with all the extras. You have already thrown the values of democracy in the trash as unnecessary – well, they can feed a family, but they do not provide the shiny benefits of life above the regulated income.

Or you were a bright journalist, you professed leftist values, somehow combining them with right-wing Putinophilia; you even fought against Borisov’s corruption and suddenly you become a Euro-Atlantic, voting against Russia in the “anti-corruption” DPS – with iron logic: Magnitsky does not apply in Bulgaria!

In short – this is the trodden political path in our country – you start with values and end in DPSGERB. And you no longer represent the voters of the official state, but the rulers of the parallel state.

So, this parallel state grows faster than its ruler’s circumference. First with the unelected appointments in the judiciary, offices, regulators and media, through which he acquired permanent power as a club that Magnitsky did not catch. And with it you “capture” the leader of the largest party in order to control the electoral power in the parliament and the government. So much so that the wards leader threw away any Euro-Atlantic clothes and shone with all the charm of the parallel state in front of the stunned leaders of the free world who thought they had an ally in Bulgaria. It provided an interface and protections against the West. After all, his dilemma is not “money or life”, but only “Atlantic mask or life”.

All this is possible because of those 200-300 thousand voters, outside the clientele, who still vote for “our Boyko”, who gives them some “stability” – before against the communists, now against the yellow-clad liberals who shake it. The stability of the parallel state that appoints and removes almost everyone in the official state.

But the weakness of this type of organization is their dependence on specific individuals, without whom it collapses.
