Hundreds of thousands of roses bloomed again this spring in the dividing lines of many of Plovdiv’s boulevards. With their beauty, they delight both the residents of Plovdiv and the guests of the city, passing along “Bulgaria”, “Sixth of September”, “Tsar Boris III the Unifier”, “Princess Maria Louisa”, “Saint Petersburg”, “Nikola Vaptsarov”, ” Naicho Tsanov”, Karlovsko Shosse and other road sections.
“In the last season alone, we planted over 5,000 new rose bushes. We take systematic care of their good development. We plant them in places with working irrigation systems,” said the director of “Gardens and Parks” Anton Georgiev.
He assured that in the coming days Plovdiv will become even more beautiful. As of today, the hanging baskets are being installed on the electric poles in the central pedestrian area. The spiral pots are also exported to iconic locations. Over 100 thousand stalks of cascading petunia and geraniums are planted in them. All 128 baskets and 28 pots are expected to be placed by Easter.
Many of the city’s fountains and fountains are also now operational. The Municipality of Plovdiv reminds that the musical and light show of the Singing Fountains has been restored, which starts every evening at 9:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday.
