Mayor Blagomir Kotsev awarded two prominent students from Varna – Nora Georgieva and Simeon Simeonov. The event, which took place in the Municipality of Varna, was attended by the Deputy Mayors for Social Activities and Education Snezhana Apostolova and Pavel Popov, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the Regional Inspectorate of Education, the children’s class teachers, teachers and classmates.

Nora Georgieva, a 12th grade student at the First Language High School in Varna, was honored by Mayor Kotsev for her merits as a laureate of the National Olympiad in German and the Representative of Bulgaria at the European final of the International Youth Debates in German in Berlin, Germany.

Simeon Simeonov, a student in the 10th grade of the “Dr. Petar Beron” Mathematical High School, was awarded for his distinction as a bronze medalist in the “The World That Brings Smiles” photo contest, an initiative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in partnership with the Ministry of Education and science. For the competition, students in Bulgaria were challenged by the two ministries to capture in a frame what makes them smile.
