The laureates of the National Debut Literature Competition “South Spring” Haskovo 2024 were announced tonight.

Prof. Mladen Vlaški – member of the jury, congratulated Haskovo for the wonderful tradition of developing and stimulating young creative talents. He emphasized the exceptional importance of Literary Days “Southern Spring” for the development of Bulgarian literature and for young authors who have the opportunity here in Haskovo to win a unique award– the one for debut.

The title “Laureate” and winner of the bronze “Pegasus” in the POETRY genre was won by Katya Dimitrova for the collection of poems “Crying for all the women before me”. “Laureate” and winner of the bronze “Pegasus” in the PROSE genre is Neda Uzunkoleva for the book “I don’t feel like going out today.” With the title “Laureate” and bronze “Pegasus” in the LITERARY CRITICISM genre from today is Radeya Gesheva for her book “Enigmas and Paradigms in Some Italian Women Writers of the 20th Century”

During the Days of Word and Spirit “Southern Spring” Municipality of Haskovo awards an extremely prestigious one award for an invaluable contribution in the field of literature, art and the development of culture. It is awardsoAlexander Pascalev“. In 2024 laureate of awardsoAlexander Pascalev” is painterthe Vladimir Zapryanov. The mayor of Municipality of Haskovo Stanislav Dechev awarded Vlado Zapryanov and congratulated him for his dedicated work for the development of culture in Haskovo. The mayor thanked Zapryanov for his willingness to get involved in new valuable projects to be implemented in Haskovo.

At the National Competition for Debut Literature, accompanying prizes were awarded: in the “Prose” genre, they went to Mihaela Ilieva for her book “X-ray Photo of Freedom” and to Danila Raicheva for her book “The Same Woman”. There are three accompanying awards in the Poetry genre. They were awarded to Tikhomira Panayotova for the collection of poems “The Heart Returns Home”, to Mila Lutskanova for the collection of poems “The End of Words” and to Maria Getova for the collection of poems “Half Decay”.

Kaloyan Kumanov and his new musical challenges presented a jewel finale of “South Spring” Haskovo 2024.
