Big spring cleaning in “Maritsa” municipality before the Easter holidays

From early in the morning, the mother of Hristo Stoichkov – Penka Stoichkova, launched the initiative of the “Maritsa” municipality for spring cleaning in populated areas. In Yasno Pole, she motivates young people to get actively involved and refresh the spaces around their homes. She set a personal example for teenagers and gathered young volunteers who cleaned around their homes before going to work and university lectures. In the village, the square, the lawns in the center and around the houses were mainly cleaned, self-growths were also cut.

In Trud, the action was launched by Mayor Spas Staykov together with the handball team and their coach Nikolay Neychev, as well as administration officials. The sports hall and its adjacent parts, parks and streets in the village were cleaned. The curbs on “Nikola Petkov” Street and Karlovsko Shosse have been painted. “I am happy that so many young people joined the initiative. We, as athletes, must always set an example”, commented the multiple champion of Bulgaria in weightlifting and last year’s bronze medalist in the “throwing” movement from the World Championship in Krakow, Spas Staykov, who has been Mayor of Labor for six months. He added that together with the students from the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” have planted more than 50 trees in the park, in the yard of DG “Biser” and in various places around the village. The planting material was donated by Georgi Kolev and the Gorata.bg platform. Volunteers in Trud collected more than 50 bags of waste by noon alone.

The children from the “Spring” DG in Tsaratsovo also joined the cleaning campaign. Together with the mayor Dimitar Petrov, the children cleaned the central part of the village and around the garden where they are brought up. In the spring cleaning, municipal employees and many citizens participated, who refreshed the spaces in the cemetery park, the yard of the church “St. Georgi”, as well as the entrance and exit of Tsaratsovo. The 5th graders from “Dyado Ivan Arabadzhiyat” elementary school also participated enthusiastically in the initiative. They collected waste separately in the area of ​​their school. “We are taking the caps off to take them to the heart and help the children’s ambulance fundraiser,” the students shared. “The local business got involved and cleaned up the adjoining areas in front of and around the businesses. Let’s wish that the bags collected every year would be less and less, that the garbage would be thrown away only in the designated places, so that we could live in more beautiful and clean villages! Everything depends on the example we set and the way we raise our children,” said Dimitar Petrov. He specified that by noon alone, more than 100 bags of waste had been collected and taken away by the garbage collection company.

The students of “Georgi Benkovski” SU accepted the cleaning campaign wholeheartedly and got actively involved. Together with the mayor of Benkovski, Todor Bosev, administration employees and many residents took part in the campaign. In the morning hours, he called on the volunteers to work together to make the village clean and welcoming. The school yards, the football field and the green areas around it were cleaned. The elementary and middle school students cleaned the school and surrounding areas. Administration staff and City Hall workers cleaned the cemetery park and painted the sidewalks to the pedestrian areas, as well as the church yard. “Benkovski is a clean village and the waste was not in large quantities, but we managed to freshen up and make our settlement more welcoming for the upcoming Easter holidays and not only,” said Mayor Todor Bosev. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who joined the eco-campaign.

In addition to cleaning, volunteers also participated in refreshing curbs and fences in Željazno. Together with the mayor Tsvetan Malehunov, benches, climbing frames and bins were painted in different colors, which refreshed the green spaces in the village.

The initiative for spring cleaning belongs to the leadership of Maritsa Municipality and the mayor Dimitar Ivanov personally, who invited the residents to welcome the approaching bright Christian holidays in clean and friendly settlements. “Let all of us, children and adults, each according to our abilities, get involved and make the yards, the sidewalks in front of our homes, the nearby park, kindergarten, children’s or sports playground, the entrances and exits of our villages, the cemetery parks cleaner or other contaminated territories, Mayor Dimitar Ivanov urged.

Thousands of small and large volunteers in the 19 settlements joined in the spring cleaning. The management of Maritsa Municipality thanks everyone for the enthusiasm and activity they showed.
