After the section was repaired, traffic was restored on AM “Trakia” in the direction of Burgas

After almost two months of repairs, traffic was restored between kilometers 20 and 21 of the “Trakia” highway in the direction of Burgas.

At the same time, however, work continues on two of the “Hemus” tunnels. The Road Infrastructure Agency announced that they are creating an organization to ease traffic before and after the holidays. For example, before Easter, due to the repair of the “Praveshki Khanov” and “Topli Dol” tunnels, heavy goods vehicles in the direction of Varna will be stopped. This will apply to different time ranges on different days. There is a similar organization for the movement in the opposite direction. Depending on the intensity of traffic, one or two lanes will be separated.

“The superstructure of this facility at 20 kilometers had to be repaired, as it was in a pre-accident condition, there were cracks in the joints. We used the moment to repair another section about 200 meters, which was also in a bad condition. We will not have to uses only one lane in both directions on the highway. It will work to its full capacity without creating any difficulties in traffic,” said Eng. Stoyan Nikolov, a member of the API management board, to Nova TV.

“Currently, repairs are underway on the Hemus highway to two of the tunnels – “Topli Dol” and “Praveshki Khanove”. Traffic has been organized in connection with the upcoming holidays in order to ease traffic. Heavy traffic in the direction of Varna is scheduled to be stopped. There will be two lanes in the direction of Varna now at the beginning of the holidays,” added Nikolov.
