--

Although delayed, work continues on the extremely large-scale Promenada Mall By Nepi Rockcastle project in Plovdiv. When completed, the shopping center will be among the largest in Bulgaria.

Its design continues, and it is expected that the documentation will be submitted for approval as soon as possible and a construction permit will be issued, explained the chief architect Yana Zhelyazkova, quoted by “Maritsa”.

Which businesses did not have a good year?

Promenada Mall will be built on land in the area of Plovdiv Stock Station – one of the city’s key transport hubs. The South African investor NEPI Rockcastle (owner of Paradise Center and Serdika Center in Sofia) will donate 8 acres for a new road infrastructure, which is currently being designed, engineer Dimitar Balchev explained to the publication.

The owner of “Paradise” and “Serdika Center” opened a new mall for €70 million in the Balkans

Its opening was delayed due to the pandemic

Thus, the new mall will be surrounded by road arteries on all sides.

It will be built on an area of 56.6 decares, and the building will have an expanded area of over 150,000 square meters, of which 60,000 will be for rent. The mall will have parking for 1,900 cars and 5 levels with a cinema, dining area and park.

The deadline for the implementation of the project is not yet clear. It was supposed to be ready in 2021, but the pandemic thwarted that. According to a TrafficNews post from earlier this year, the mall is likely to open in 2026.
