Levski Sofia is the new volleyball champion of Bulgaria after a victory against CSKA with a 3:1 game (23:25, 25:19, 25:22, 25:21). The Blues won the final series with a 3-0 victory. The first two matches ended 3:2 and 3:1 for Nikolay Zhelyazkov’s team. The last title for Levski was in 2009. For the “blues” this is the 20th championship trophy.

The meeting in the “Levski Sofia” hall was held in front of full stands. The match started stronger for the “reds”, who led with 5:1 points. After that, the “blues” stabilized their game and equalized at 10:10. A new strong period followed for Alexander Popov’s team, which practically ensured success in the first game. CSKA managed to win the first part with 25:23.

Already at the beginning of the second game, Levski took the lead, and in the course of the entire part, the difference between the two teams was between two and five points.

The third part turned out to be decisive for the outcome of the match. The game started evenly, with neither team able to break away. The first more serious difference was obtained at 13:10 for the “blues”. CSKA came back in the half and even took the lead with 16:15, but then followed a strong series of serves by Vladimir Garkov, which was the key to the victory with 25:20.

In the fourth game, Levski led with 3:0 points. At times, CSKA came within just one of their rival, but they never took the lead even once, and so Levski is again the champion of Bulgaria, 15 years later.

Kristian Titrijski scored 18 points for the “blues”. The top scorer in the match was the volleyball player of the “Reds” Strahinja Burzakovic with 24 points.
