Over 400 new flags have been installed by Chistota teams on the light poles along the entrance-exit arteries and other iconic places in Plovdiv on the occasion of the Unification Day, September 6, when it is also the city’s holiday.

200 each are the national tricolors and the flags of Plovdiv. New large tricolors are also being flown on the 15-meter pylons at 5 of the city’s entrances.


The director of Chistota, Dimitar Georgiev, recalled that traditionally flags are renewed twice a year – on the eve of the national holiday, March 3 and for September 6. All flags are sewn by the Municipal Social Enterprise for People with Disabilities.

Tomorrow, also according to tradition, the Unification monument on the square of the same name will be shampooed again.

New large tricolors are blowing on the 15-meter pylons at 5 of the entrances to Plovdiv. The nearly 400 national flags and flags of the municipality on the light poles along the entrance-exit arteries, on “Komatevsko shose” and a number of iconic places around the city have also been renewed.

On the eve of the holiday, employees of “Cleanliness” traditionally “bathed” the monument of the Union with shampoo, and now the whole square smells of fresh flowers.

Over 400 new flags – 200 tricolors and 200 flags of Plovdiv – have been placed on the lighting poles along the entrance-exit arteries. The flags in front of the municipality building, the exhibition hall of the City Art Gallery on Main Street, the Roman Stadium and other iconic places in the city have also been renewed.

OP “Cleanliness” recalls that the flags are renewed twice a year – on the eve of the national holiday, March 3 and for September 6. Traditionally, the Unification monument will also be washed in the days before the holiday.
