King Charles III’s health worries his friends and the palace, as he continues to battle a type of cancer.
“Speaking to friends of the King in recent weeks about his health, the most common response has been: ‘He’s not well.’Tom Sykes of the Daily Beast reported.
A friend of the monarch claimed Charles was “determined to win”, adding: “Everyone remains optimistic, but he is really, really bad.”
Royal scribe Tina Brown also hinted at the monarch’s health problems, recently writing that Charles’ cancer has put Prince William and Kate Middleton “in frightening proximity to the accession to the throne just when they were hoping for a period in which to withdraw their children from the public sphere.”
“They told me that the prospect of it was causing them great anxiety.”

Sykes also reported that plans for the king’s funeral – codenamed “Operation Menai Bridge” are currently being reviewed.
A separate document that specifies what was planned at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and what can be done better the next time a monarch dies is also spreadingaccording to the Daily Beast.

All sources stress that plans for the royal funeral are constantly being revised. However, a former official admits that Charles’ health problems gave his plans a different tone and urgency.
“The plans have been dusted off and are being actively updated”the former employee explained.

Buckingham Palace announced in February that the king had been diagnosed with cancer following surgery for a benign prostate enlargement. A statement noted that Charles, 75, would undergo “regular treatment” and had been “advised by doctors to postpone public engagements”. Days later, he released a statement thanking all the well wishes. His first public appearance was two months later when he attended the Easter service.
