Levski coach Nikolay Kostov gave a press conference before tomorrow’s Eternal Derby with CSKA. The fight will take place at 16:15 at the Vasil Levski National Stadium.
During his briefing, the specialist also made a big revelation. He announced that Levski wanted to attract goalkeeper Dinko Horkash, who parted ways with Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Kostov stressed that most likely Plamen Andreev will keep the goal against the “reds”.
“My expectations are that CSKA will be really different from what they were since they changed the coach. But we didn’t have much basis for comparison as the team has played a little time to have more complete analyses, but I expect there will be a difference in CSKA’s game,” Kostov announced.
“We have to play in a way to beat the opposition because every game is on its own. What was in the past months cannot be now,” the Blues coach continued.
When asked if he sees an improvement in the atmosphere after the last round, Nikolay Kostov said: “The match with Beroe was very important for us not so much because of the three points, but to calm down our players, as it was also seen in the first half how many mistakes we made. There was obviously tension as we were subject to a lot of criticism and perhaps rightly so. That’s why it was important to win this game, not so much for the three points, but now we’re chasing other things. We have other goals – we are chasing three points. That’s our goal to see how far we can go.”
“Naturally, we have higher hopes – Fabio Lima, even Mitkov is in the general group. We have higher hopes, since we have the blades Petkov and Lima, which in the first match we were not able to use and we were toothless in attack,” Nikolay Kostov also commented and added:
“Most likely, Plamen Andreev will be at the door. We will see his mental state tomorrow at the match itself. Plamen must now show character and not bend in such matches. It will already be unforgivable for him to have any psychological concerns before the match. He has to show that he is a man, as we give him a permanent vote of confidence and I believe in him. As for Fabio Lima, we will also see tomorrow if he is ready for 90 minutes. I sincerely hope he plays at least at a good pace for at least 70-80 minutes.”
“We really wanted the Lokomotiv Plovdiv goalkeeper Dinko Horkas. We even made contact with him and his agents, but I personally have no results to be able to answer,” explained Kostov.
On the subject of the referee of the match, Georgi Kabakov, Nikolay Kostov stated: “We have already entered the play-off matches and throughout the championship we have some sense of injustice in many of the matches, even the ones we lost. But we have not complained, we always look to be more patient. We hope that with the change of management, this feeling will also change in us.”
