The bomber is 48.5 meters long, and its wingspan is 56.4 meters. The maximum speed is about 1,050 km/h, but the B-52 usually flies at about 850 km/h. It can carry 32 tons of bombs and missiles.

The Boeing B-52 was developed in the middle of the last century as a bomber whose main task is to carry a nuclear weapon. Today, the plane is armed not with nuclear bombs, but with missiles that can carry a nuclear charge. However, the bomber may also be armed with a wide range of conventional weapons.

During the Cold War, squadrons of B-52s were constantly in the air near the borders of the USSR. They flew, ensuring that the US could launch a massive nuclear strike against its main geopolitical adversary.

The US plans to develop the B-52 in its role as a missile carrier, so it is possible that it will continue to perform combat missions after it a century of combat service. For this purpose, by 2035, the Pentagon will renew all the engines of the more than 700 used by the bomber.
