Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi warned on Friday that although relations between China and the US have stabilized“the negative factors are piling up,” the Global Times reported.
He met in Beijing with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who stressed that the two countries must “avoid miscalculations” while expressing hope that progress can be made on the agreements on the risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI), military ties and fentanyl.
Wang noted that a conflict between the U.S. and China would be a “lose-lose situation,” while asking the U.S “not to interfere” in China’s internal affairs.
This is a diplomatic hint to the White House to reconsider its policy of military support for Taiwan.

“The international community is closely monitoring whether the two countries will be leaders in international cooperation on solving global problems for mutual and multilateral benefits, or they will oppose and confront, even to the point of conflict, resulting in losses for all,” Wan told Blinken.
