The May Coup 1934 and the persecution of the members of the VMRO (VIDEO)

--

The historian recalls that May 19, 1934 was a turning point for Bulgaria. Until 1989, analogies between May 19, 1934 and September 9, 1944 were not made. of these heroes, we will later see them on stage on September 9, 1944. But the most important thing that was hidden and continues to be hidden from the Bulgarian public is that behind the coup on May 19 there are two currents. One stream, the military, the Military Union, it was always prominent, and it was delicately said that the gravitating intellectuals around the “Unit” circle, but it was hardly said what the “Unit” circle was. It was not convenient for them to say that they were fascists, because these same “fascists” then made the communist coup. But these intellectuals were caught up in authoritarian tendencies that were fashionable in Europe. Hitler has already come to power in the 33rd year, Stalin has long imposed his power in the Soviet Union, Mussolini has turned Italy into a standard of autocracy. In Democratic Europe, democracy is in retreat and is seen as a dying thing. All neighboring regimes around Bulgaria are no less rigid and are usually headed by either the monarchs or those close to the court, usually in combination with some kind of military. The situation is the same in Europe, not much different. The variations are more or less around this circle – military and some drawing inspiration from the anti-democratic theories then fashionable. But the Circle “Zveno” does not only profess these theories. The “Zveno” circle is connected to Yugoslavia, and behind Yugoslavia to some extent is the French intelligence, which is involved in these events. But the main contribution to this coup against Bulgaria was made by Yugoslavia.” More: Dr. Evlogi Stanchev: We are not yet ready to take a sober look at our relations with Russia (VIDEO)

“Few people know that the assassination in 1925 in the church of St. Sunday” was carried out with explosive materials brought from Belgrade. Although the assassination was communist, in the fight against VMRO and against the Bulgarian cause in Macedonia, the Serbian services did not hesitate to enter into negotiations with the Communist International. Anyone who works against Bulgaria is welcome for them,” says Ivo Ivanov.

“What irritates Belgrade the most is that the Macedonian movement has its own parliamentary group in the parliament. It is not unified in the VMRO, but through Macedonian activists who entered the lists of the various parties, when votes are taken on certain national issues concerning the Macedonian cause, they lobby and are united. All this leads to a new attempt at action by Belgrade.”

“In 1934, the people got tired of the party game. This struggle, which, unfortunately, corresponds very strongly, if today we look at what has been happening in Bulgaria for the last 3 years, the chaos was similar. The people needed a power to bring peace and officially the Warlords and the Military Union came up with this idea to bring peace and were accepted in good faith. The coup is almost bloodless, but within the coup plotters themselves there are two opposing currents. One is of the Military Union officers, most of whom are pro-anarchic. While the other wing around “Zveno”, which is the most dependent on Serbian money and propaganda, because “Zveno” is financed with Serbian money, they talk about a republic, they talk about an integral Yugoslavia, how Bulgaria would join and propagandize, under one form or another, in the Serbo-Croatian Kingdom or in the new Yugoslavia.” More: Georgi Papakochev: The entire arsenal of Russian propaganda is included (VIDEO)
