American actress Mira Sorvino was outraged by the overturning of Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s conviction for sex crimes. The star expressed his position on the X social network, formerly Twitter.

Sorvino, who was among the first victims of the producer’s assaults to go public about his abuse, called the US justice system disgusting and said the decision was not made in favor of the victims. “He is an avowed serial predator who has raped or harmed more than 200 women,” she wrote.

The court decided not to take into account the testimony of witnesses who spoke about the bad and intemperate character of the producer, and not about harassment and violence. “Since when do courts not take into account past bad deeds?” she asks. As “Sega” wrote yesterday, the court in New York overturned one of the sentences of the Hollywood mogul. According to the latest ruling, Weinstein’s 2020 conviction did not take into account errors related to testimony and should be reconsidered.

Actress Mira Sorvino, known for films such as “The Mighty Aphrodite”, “Pretty Girls”, “Norma Jean and Marilyn”, “Easy Money”, “Grey Zone” and many others, in a previous interview told that her career failed because of Harvey Weinstein and the damage that his experience had on her psyche.

Accusations against the film producer were first announced in 2017 on the pages of the authoritative New York Times. The publication then revealed that a large number of young actresses and subordinates of Weinstein had been sexually assaulted by him over the past 30 years. Later, more than 80 women shared their shocking stories with him.
