The cinnamon bun “kanelbuler” is the Swedes’ favorite sweet. Its popularity stretches from Scandinavia to the US and beyond. But in Sweden it is an invariable part of the coffee break. And the taste can be described as crunchy, cinnamony, mild and sweet.

How to prepare galaktoburek

The ingredients for the cake are simple – flour, sugar, salt, water, yolk, butter. Ground almonds, seeds or nuts can be added. The most important thing is to use butter, not margarine.

Swedes love “kannelbuler” so much that the sweet has its own day – October 4. Cinnamon rolls can be found in many places, but nowhere are they as loved as in Sweden.
