Russian troops are ready to launch a new offensive in one of the directions. If the Russian command makes a suitable decision, it will happen during the weekend or immediately after. This opinion was expressed by military expert Oleg Zhdanov, quoted by UNIAN.
It is about the direction of Kupyansk, in which the Russians have apparently become more active lately, noted Zhdanov. According to him, the main purpose of the latest attacks is to check the defense of the Ukrainian armed forces – what are their capabilities and effectiveness for countermeasures.
“As far as I understand, the occupiers continue to study our defenses…According to intelligence data, the regrouping of troops and the formation of a strike group in the Kupyan direction is almost complete, although in principle we do not see major movements. According to some of our experts, the Russian troops are ready to start a new attempt to resume the offensive operation, organizing one or two attacks per day, most likely for the purpose of reconnaissance and assessment of the situation, in order to make a judgment and take a concrete decision when and in what direction should the offensive be”, points out Zhdanov.
According to him, the correct decision – whether to take an offensive and in what direction – can be influenced by the situation in all other operational directions in general.
“They put almost everything they have into the battle, they increase their efforts to the maximum, but these efforts do not always bear fruit,” commented Zhdanov.
