By tradition, on the eve of May 24, a ceremony was held in Pazardzhik for the presentation of annual awards to deserving teachers and cultural figures for achievements in the field of education, culture and art. For the first year, in addition to the awardees, the names of the nominees were also announced on stage as a sign of respect and recognition for them. The host of the event this year was the actress Elen Koleva.
The mayor of Pazardzhik, Todor Popov, expressed his gratitude not only to the awardees, but also to all the nominees in the various categories.
Awards were given to teachers and principals in all levels of education – kindergartens, primary, primary and secondary schools.
The grand prize for overall contribution to the development of culture in the Pazardzhik municipality this year and the Cyril and Methodius statuette went to Angel Tsenov – founder and conductor of the mixed choir “Thracian Lira”.
The winner of the award in the “Literature” section is Iliya Mihailov.
The award for “Music” went to Tanya Dimitrova. Katya Bazhlekova was awarded in the applied/fine arts category, and Lyudmila Daskalova was awarded in theater. In the category of journalism, the award went to Maria Dabova, and in photography, the award went to Gloria Nacheva.
