The Bulgarian national volleyball team lost its second match of the “DHL Test” friendly tournament, which takes place in Italy.
After our victory over the Netherlands on Tuesday, yesterday the home team conceded to the host and current world champions.
Plamen Konstantinov’s boys lost 1:3 (25:23, 21:25, 20:25, 24:26) to the Italians, who came out with a much rejuvenated team in the city of Cavalese.
Of course, the home selection was also not in an optimal composition given the friendly nature of the match, but our main six consisted of Georgi Seganov, Dimitar Dimitrov, Denis Karyagin, Nikolay Penchev, Alex Grozdanov, Nikolay Kolev, and the libero was Simeon Dobrev.
The home team played a very strong first game, in which the outcome came at the very end when, at 23:23, Karyagin made a blowout, and then an Italian attack went to an out, which meant 25:23 for Bulgaria.
In the second part, the native selection fell behind even in the middle of the game. From 11:11, the difference became 11:15, after which it was difficult for our team to come back in this part, which was lost by 21:25.
It was a similar scenario in the fifth game as Italy built a three-point lead midway through the game and extended the lead to five by the end to win 25-20.
The fourth game was extremely strong for Bulgaria, in which the home team took the lead with 21:17, but unfortunately conceded an equalizer at 21:21.
Our big chance to put the match into a tiebreak was at 24:22 in our favor, but both gameballs were missed, and in the end with 26:24 Italy won this game and the match 3:1.
