Nikolay Kirov-Belia was officially appointed as Beroe’s head coach and will lead the team in the upcoming meeting with Slavia. The coach will lead the team out for their first training session today at 5.30pm.
Kirov is 47 years old, born in Plovdiv. In his coaching career, he led the teams of Maritsa, Spartak Plovdiv, Botev Plovdiv, Arda and CSKA 1948. As a coach, he won the Cup and Super Cup of Bulgaria and was a two-time finalist in the tournament. Kirov was elected “Coach number 1 in Bulgaria” for 2020. As a football player, he plays as a goalkeeper in the teams of Maritsa, Botev Plovdiv and Dobrudzha.
His team will also include Ivan Kochev (assistant coach), Tihomir Todorov (goalkeeper coach) and Atanas Nikolov (conditioning coach).
Ivan Kochev will be the new coach’s first assistant. As a footballer, he plays as a defender. Silver medalist and four-time bronze medalist from the championship with the Botev Plovdiv team. Former national of Bulgaria.
Tihomir Todorov will be responsible for the training of the goalkeepers. He has experience in this position at Neftohimik, Botev Plovdiv, China and CSKA 1948.
Atanas Nikolov will be responsible for physical training. He is a former competitor and long jump coach and has experience as a conditioning coach at Botev Plovdiv and CSKA 1948.
Meanwhile, today another elite team of ours announced the name of its new coach. We are talking about Botev Vratsa. Under Okolchitsa, the Brazilian Daniel Morales returns, who left some time ago due to a series of poor results, but now he will sit in the chair of the departed Rosen Kirilov.
There will also be a change of coach in the Second League, and that of one of the most popular clubs in Bulgaria. Hristo Yanev is leaving Pernik, and it is not yet clear who will replace him.
