A one-way plane ticket from Moscow to Antalya, where many Russians headed after the announced partial mobilization, costs more than BGN 7,500 (70,000 Turkish lira), BTA reports, citing the Turkish private television station NTV. However, finding a free plane ticket is almost impossible.
Antalya is the most preferred destination by Russians among the Turkish districts. However, most airlines do not offer any free seats at all for a flight from the Russian capital to the Turkish Mediterranean resort town. It is almost impossible to find a ticket for the flights of the national carrier of Turkey, Turkish Airlines.
Employees of tour operators working on the Russian market reported that the price of plane tickets has risen significantly in connection with the increased demand, and for flights of “Turkish Airlines” it reaches the sum of 70 thousand euros for a one-way ticket, and in other airlines the price of a seat on the plane is in the order of 40-50 thousand Turkish lira (4300-5400 BGN), but finding a free ticket borders on the impossible. For this reason, many have taken the road to Turkey by car, the TV noted.
Other Turkish districts preferred by Russians are Istanbul and Izmir, where many have loved ones, relatives or acquaintances.
About 30 Russian citizens who came to Antalya on vacation or for work canceled their return tickets yesterday and did not board the plane back to Russia, NTV also reported.
