Nedan Hadjiev, who captured a Mexican contract killer, is no longer the director of the OD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Haskovo. The change took place a few days ago, and Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev appointed Atanas Nenkov to his post.
Hadjiev had been in office since January, when he replaced Vencislav Kirchev, who took over the National Police. While he was the head of forensics in Haskovo, Turgai Sali was killed. Hadjiev and his team captured the Mexican Victor Omar. He was jailed in Greece as part of an Australian marijuana gang that sold the drug in Thessaloniki. The gang was convicted on Sally’s testimony. Omar was captured in February, just 2 days after the murder.
Hadjiev goes to GDBOP, where he is a scout. His successor, Atanas Nenkov, has many years of professional experience in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He started in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1996 and until 1999 he worked in the “Economic Police” and “Fighting Organized Crime” sectors. After leaving the system for 2 years, he returned to work as the head of RU-Haskovo, and in 2007 he was appointed director of the OD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Haskovo, a position he held until 2009. From 2014 to the present, he head of the “Security Police” department.
He holds a Master’s degree in “Law” and a Master’s degree in “Accounting and Control” at UNSS-Sofia.
