The strongest marketer, the strongest advertiser of “Revival” is Kiril Petkov. It bears all the characteristics of the bad and failed traits of Western globalist civilization: shallowness, lack of depth, lack of respect for local context.
This was stated in an interview for BGNES by the social anthropologist Assoc. Haralan Alexandrovlecturer at New Bulgarian University.
Prof. Alexandrov and I are talking about whether there is a way out of the severe crisis, which practically paralyzed the possibility governmentwhich will lead Bulgaria through the coming difficult times.
“Politicsit has two functions, to manage public affairs and to negotiate the various interests in society. In the last two years, however, we have left the field of politicsand we entered the field of conflict. In the place of negotiation, of seeking consensus, there is a conflict in which each tries to blame the other“, emphasized the cultural anthropologist.
He believes that the restraining framework, which has always guaranteed us a transition from conflict to consensus, is currently very shaky and creates a risk for Bulgaria.
“We have to find an internal solution, this is also the big challenge, to bring back the moment of negotiation and consensus. However, this is now unlikely, I do not believe that a consensus and a working parliament will be reproduced after the upcoming elections, and the most vulnerable people in society, those who depend on the functioning of the institutions, will suffer the most“, said Assoc. Haralan Alexandrov.
He defined the role of President Rumen Radev as trying to return normalization to the political process. “The concern for the functioning of the political process seems to be leading to official work governmentas if saving those in distress is a priority for them” said the social anthropologist.
Prof. Alexandrov stated that the failure of the last administration, led by “We continue the change”, which proclaimed itself liberal, western and very pro-American, did a huge favor to his enemies, if we accept that they are enemies.
“The strongest marketer, the strongest advertiser of “Revival” is Kiril Petkov. It bears all the characteristics of the bad and failed traits of Western globalist civilization: shallowness, lack of depth, lack of respect for local context, tendency to behave in some fantasy worlds, severe narcissistic self-fixation, dramatic conflicts and a lot of hidden aggression“, emphasized the social anthropologist.
He thinks we have yet to understand where the totalitarian drive and desire to send people to prison comes from.
“This is a major flaw in this class that we had so much hope for. The highly educated people who came and had to show the best. They came and showed the worst of globalization and the Bulgarian family tradition – they appointed all relatives and friends, then started from the position of moral superiority to explain to us how we should live. This is an absolutely predictable catastrophe and proof of the theses of the Russian propaganda, which has strong spokesmen in Bulgaria, that the Western elite is comprador, that it is exploitative, that it has come to rob us – first it has come to take over the minds and then to colonize the resources“, said Assoc. Haralan Alexandrov and added: what happened is so stunning that one begins to think it is a conspiracy.
He emphasized that in recent years our civilizational choice has never suffered such a heavy blow.
“I have never seen so many normal people who have never set foot in Russia who start talking about Putin’s Russia as an alternative to Western liberal democracy. This was made possible because of this scandalous, incompetent, hideous and immoral government that was labeled and packaged as the best of the West. This is the drama we will be living with for some time to come” stated the social anthropologist.
The urban liberal community – there is a very strong discrepancy between objective social status and the experience of such.
“They live with a version of themselves that is quite different from what we see on the outside. They are considered, as strange as it sounds, to be losers, although objectively, if you look at their income and social situation, they are rather the winners of the transition. This is because they have a version of themselves that by virtue of their better education and openness to the West, because of their reading and passionate devotion to the ideology and values of Western democracy, they are God-given to be in power, to manage and lead the underdeveloped local community to a bright future” stated the social anthropologist.
This attitude, especially in its radical version, is beginning to look quite Trotskyist, quite Bolshevik.
“We are so convinced of our rightness that if you don’t want good, we will make you bad. This is where this totalitarian drive, amazing for people with liberal pretensions, is unleashed. This bitter hatred of their political opponents, the absolute inability to see the world in complex categories, the heavy reduction to good and bad, black and white, mafia and fighters against it. Entering the role of some sect that preaches its ultimate truth“, added Prof. Alexandrov.
He pointed out that there are those who have not fallen into this unhealthy detour and now reality is beginning to painfully return them to a depressed position.
“The scandal arose, they got carried away blinded by their hatred for GERB and Borisov, and for DPS, they allowed themselves to be misled and become complicit in this outrage and are about to pay a political price. You can make many mistakes, but you can’t make one mistake: you can’t not know who is your friend and who is your enemy. If you betray your friends and ally with your enemies, you pay a price, and it’s happening right now. With great enthusiasm they joined these destructive processes, which quite obviously serve their greatest enemies, namely the imperial interests of Russia. They brought Bulgaria to disintegration and permanent conflict. Astute outside observers have noticed and are wondering how to reason with the natives who for a very long time have supported, fed, funded and educated“, said Assoc. Haralan Alexandrov.
