The legendary “Orient Express” train will arrive at the railway station in Varna today. After crossing the border with Romania, the train will be at Ruse station at 13:05 and depart for Varna at 13:55.

The luxurious composition of 15 carriages, traveling on the route Paris – Istanbul, will arrive at the railway station in Varna at 17 hours and 40 minutes. It will stay for over 3 hours, then at 21:15 it will leave for Turkey.

The legendary train composition from Agatha Christie’s novel was restored in 1997.

In the last two years, due to the pandemic, the 6-day journey from Paris to Istanbul did not take place.

BDZ will take care of the service of the train on Bulgarian territory, which includes the provision of locomotives from border to border, filling with water at certain stations and carrying out the mandatory technical checks and brake tests of the inspector wagons at some stations along the train route.

The last historical train described by Agatha Christie stopped in Varna on August 27, 2019. At that time, 91 passengers from 12 nationalities were traveling in it. They were greeted with bread and salt, traditional for Bulgaria, after which they were taken by tour operators for a three-hour walk around the Archaeological Museum and residence “Evksinograd”.

In the last two years, due to the COVID pandemic, the 6-day journey from Paris to Istanbul did not take place.
